It may be just a short drive from the beach, but with its moss-covered trees, wetlands, marshes and constant buzz of hissing insects, The Witch looks like it has been dropped in the middle of a Louisiana bayou. With two contrasting nines – low and wet, and then woods and mostly dry – it’s a magical and at times almost mystical course: I saw snapper turtles, wild turkeys, deer, woodchucks, squirrels, and several alligators lounging in the ponds.
